I ran across this web page depicting "reality Vs brochure". It reminds me of what newcomers to trucking must experience in the first 6 months. [Recommend view in desktop browser]

Assembly line companies. They all conform to one set of policies as it pertains to pay, hometime, weeks out before you are eligible for hometime, and so forth. The mega companies today are factory assembly lines of drivers also. The companies are like the oil/gas companies. One raises the pay a cent ot two, and others try to compete. They act as if they are doing you a favor, with the minimal pay. The minimal pay drivers receive from a load, is only a very small amount to what the company is being paid per load. This is why i gave up being a company driver, and bought my fleet of trucks.
RedRover and Toomanybikes Thank this.
