I like to keep in touch with what's going in the world not to mention get info from this board. Can and do truckers bring lap top computers with them? I've been looking into wireless network for news, info, and keeping in touch with friends and family. If so, how does wierless work on your rig?

Most of the guys on here are posting from laptops. You can access WiFi hotspots from most truckstops or you can get a broadband card from one of the cell phone companys.

I always had my laptop with me for directions and entertainment. Most all decent sized truckstops have wifi internet you can buy. Also you can buy cards for your cellphone and use that. I found it a must to have my laptop with me.

I use a 110 volt adapter in cig lite socket, costs 29.00 at truck stop. I have a sprint wireless card, put it in and go online right away. It works everyplace but out in the country. I pay sprint 59.00 a month, unlimited time limit. Its all tax deductable at the end of the year as is my sprint cell phone, they really have been good to me,when I go over my minutes,it's just 5.00 for 1oo minutes increments.Get a laptop in your truck and like me,you'll wonder how you could go without it.
