Need input from fellow Roehl-ers on advice please

Both of your situations aren't that unusual. First, being a "little" late isn't going to hurt you that much but as others have stated here, you really don't want to make a habit of it. As for going over your 14, that's going to get you talked to at a minimum (normally). But next time it happens, and it will, write an explanation in your log, use line 4 to cover the time and then let your DSR know what happened, the reason for the overage and how you have logged it.

When and if you get the call handle it very professionally. If you screwed up admit it and let her know you will try harder next time. Just do not argue with her. That will make your life alot easier. Once you establish a bad relationship with your DSR your time at Roehl will suck. That is because it is no fun working with someone you dislike

 

That's not exactly what I mean,. Anytime you have to go over your 14, you need to account for the amount of time you went over and be ready to explain the circumstances.

 

She is a darn good DSR. She was the only one that took the time to listen when I asked to be a flatbedder. Everybody else automatically assumed I wanted to be a Southeast Regional guy and just said no but she actually listened and got me switched over. I still owe her some cookies for it too. I was sad to leave her board.

 

i am new to the vast abiss of the cdl world. i live south of the mason dixon line and have been looking at both roehl or decker/allen freight? need to decide. i have been accepted to both as a new student and i hear many good and bad on both.can anyone help...........

 

If you're thinking of Decker, I don't know much about them, and I'm not even sure if it's the same Decker I'm thinking of. But, the Decker with the little triangle on the trucks has some nice looking equipment from what I've seen. Maybe you can be the first driver they hire that doesn't make me want to get in their truck and back it up for them.
