Tj makes a good point, all wallyworld are different. For example, there's a Lowe's along US23 (in Va) that the local coal haulers park their trucks at night. But since they're only there at night, the store folks don't bug 'em.

Thanks for all the great ideas, there's a walmart and lowe's up the road and it may be worth the 35 mile drive up 24 to check out the rest stop. Thanks again for all the great answers!! you guys rock!

As an O/O I woulndt leaveing my rig parked at a busy truckstop 20 some miles away especially loaded. There is always the chance of some one hitting the truck or getting into the load and you not finding out till 2 days later.

exactly and that is the bottom line to all this. -
Isn't there a website or magazine available of all the Wal Marts out there that allow truck parking?
Or as far as that goes any business in the US that allows it?
Our local Wal Mart just put up a huge no truck parking sign last week.
I'm not a trucker but I think it's a crying shame how the country act like they hate trucks, the very thing that supplies us with everything that surrounds us. -
What city in TX is that where they put up no truck sign? They might put them up because some drivers will abuse some places that we are allowed to park. They will leave trash on the ground and you know what can be in some of those bags, dump pee bottles on the ground which as you know smells nasty.I dont blame the stores I blame the disrespectful drivers out there. They even do it in the truck stops where thereis bathrooms inside and trash barrels everywhere.
simplyred1962 and Native Dancer Thank this. -
When I park at a Walmart that doesn't have actual truck parking spaces (like Vandalia IL), I always go first to the highest manager I can find and tell them I am shopping (and I always buy something) and that I would like so spend the night. I let them know where I am parked. I let them know I am aware that some truck drivers are less than dainty with their rubbish, and that I will respect their lot. I have always gotten permission.
Please, if you are going to park at Walmart, don't jump curbs or drive over their grass or landscaping. Don't leave your rubbish on the ground. If you use a buggy when you shop, don't just leave it by where you park, bring it back to the corral. If other drivers are there that neglect to do these things, maybe you could do it for them. Try to park in the outside corners or in some other non obstructive way. And do your best to keep it to 10 hours or less.....Native Dancer, doubledragon5 and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
Well in my opinion there's a heck of a lot more disrespectful 4wheeler drivers out there than semi drivers,as far as driving and parking in general.

The problem is many mall parking lots are annexed as part of the city for enforcement reasons
Watch them barnie's fifes that take it upon them selves to be helpful to the store
