My bf, an experienced driver who has most recently been driving locally, has decided to go OTR and take me with him. We are looking for a company where he doesn't have to drive for a period of time (90 days, 6 months, whatever) and can take me from the beginning. Also, we are very happy NOT being married, and don't wish to, just so that I can ride along. I've read the other posts related to this, and it seems most people are asking about specific companies. I would just like to know about companies that meet OUR requirements!:biggrin_25526:Bombchelle

hey bomb, your going to find that most, if not all companies are going to have a probation period, and during that period the driver can not have a ride along.
altho, i remember when i was in school a company came in and said they can have a passanger from day one. but i think that ment wife/husband/kids, which im terms dose not meet YOUR requirement. they may be a way around this, however im not sure, some companies may allow it depending how may years he has behind the wheel. other will just not allow it for the first
    60/90 days.
good luck, wed lke to see what companies you come up with that will allow it, so let us/others know

I belive that may trucking has a rider policy from day one as long as he does not need to be out with a trainer. Although it will cost for the insurance for you being on the truck possibly $30-$60 per month.

I rode with my boyfriend from day one. Didn't have to wait for a certain amount of time. I even went with him to his orientation. They treated me like a driver as well and i was just a passenger. All companies are different and we were lucky to find one that didn't give us a hassle about the passenger policies or whatever aggervation.
