I agree, when someone says they were in IT, I have to assume they were an analyst (programmer) or some low level help desk clown. The worst ones who I had to deal with were kids coming out of college with CS degrees and thinking that they know more than the old guy who specialized in COBOL.
I assume such a service doesn't exist yet. Should I create it?

@TruckRunner while I admire your desire to improve things, your idea just won't work.
Market testing your idea here where you can get some feedback is also good, but don't get defensive when people tell you
There are already 2 major load boards that everyone uses, where brokers post rates. From there we negotiate, either by phone or email. If you want to create a board and compete with the two major players, you're going to have to offer something unique that they don't. You'll also have to protect whatever it is that you have or they will simply steal it from you.
Now come up with something unique that neither DAT nor TS doesn't offer and see what you can do.
@rollin coal, @Ruthless, @Ridgeline, are all very knowledgeable. While sometimes it may seem harsh, it would behoove you to pay attention to what they say. For those of us who have been in this industry for a long time, it sometimes gets annoying to keep hearing the same stuff, over and over. So, next time, try and find out if your idea has already been floated before you put it out there. -
I agree completely...come here for an advise or expect an opinion and all of sudden their feelings are hurt. There is not a better school from being intellectually bashed a little. It is not the same as abusing someone with some foul language. His idea is forlorn and weak though. Not even worth so many postings.

Your problem is it's obvious you don't know #### about trucking. Best to take your IT knowledge elsewhere.

@rolling coal....You are correct. I would have likely said a "silly" idea so as not to hurt feelings, but your "Stupid idea" description is just too accurate.

The only thing I could possibly add to this would be to remember that, historically, most innovations occur with the introduction of a third competitor. If the OP were to create a third load board like Polecrusher suggested, that might be the pathway to innovating a better load board. This might be the hook the OP is looking for.
