I agree jeepskate BUT (and there is always one of those around) they still make the choice to be LL or other sex industry workers. I havent seen any 6 or 7 year olds out being LL its adults or nearly adults with the ability to make their own choices.
I think the people hurt most are the wives/so/gf of the men who use LL, and the children if any of the LL....not the LL
truck stop prostitution far from victimless crime

Oh,please!!!! So, in essence, what you are saying is that men, with all the hormones "raging" through them, can not control themselves???
Come on, face the facts....MANY WOMEN, who are the stay-at-home wives of these drivers, manage to control THEIR sexual urges, desires, and HORMONES, until their man comes home....it's a matter of values, morality, and RESPECT.....

This is what makes these LL different from other women, they were traumatized at a young age. Any woman you know, your sister, mother, or your own wife, could had ended up like any of these LL had they been raped and molested at a young age.
I was molested by my step-weirdo from the age of 2, until my mom finally divorced him at my age of 14.
I DID NOT become a LL, hooker, prostitute, or whatever term you prefer.
Granted, I've had a whole other slew of problems, from addiction, to alcoholism,to attachment and intimacy issues....
The LAST thing I needed, was to allow myself to feel even MORE badly about myself, and be degraded, by giving sex to ANY man, for $$, or any OTHER reason.
When I have sex with my husband, it's not JUST sex....I share my heart and soul with him.
'Nuff said by me....

Please forgive my opinion, but after reading a few of these threads about LL, I just can't help myself. What makes LL different from prostitutes?
There are plenty of prostitutes that have been exploited by family and others, LL don't have a corner market on that. LL, like prostitutes can spin a sob story to appeal to the client. After all its their profession. Its a learned talent, to find the right story that keeps the client from rejecting their service. No different than a used car dealer selling a lemon and making you feel good about taking it home.
Even though there are those that enjoy selling themselves, what about those that are lost and can't figure out how to get out of the demoralizing profession ?
The type of help they need, isn't the money they make, it involves counseling. Lots of Love and compassion.
They have given up on themselves and don't know how to help themselves find a better life.
So contributing to their belief that all they are worth is nothing more than a sexual relief, does nothing to help.
Trying to convince others that there is nothing wrong with USING LL is just another form of exploitation, in its encouragement.

In some respects, I agree with you....in others...not.
It would be like trying to convince a man(or woman) who beats their spouse/partner, that there is nothing wrong with beating her/him.
That person abuses because they feel they are entitled to.
The abused have been abused for many years.
Some of us who went through this, DIDN'T become LL's, prostitutes, or what-have-you.....
THEN,TRY to convince the abused that they have done nothing wrong, they don't deserve such treatment, and they can be BETTER than this.....
IMHO
Drivers, and others, who pay/contribute to/use the services of, LL's, hookers, prostitutes, call-girls, etc., et al are no better than the original abuser!!!!

Okay, I'll bite. What don't you agree with? If I'm reading your post right you agree with me. Perhaps its, that, not everyone can bounce back after a traumatic experience. Some can, but not everyone finds their way back.

Please see my post Looking for Mom
Agreed. That along with a constant demorilization in society, girls are brought up to know that sex is our trade. Some people just get better opportunities to keep it clean.Last edited by a moderator: Apr 21, 2009
