If he didn't want to drive a day cab to keep making money, then he deserves not to be paid. Unless you were expecting him to sleep in a day cab, which I'm sure you didn't.

Oh ok. Now I understand. He's a bad boy and is in need of punishment.

Reading further you made availible to him another truck to drive? A nice day cab? And he refuses to drive it?

What is matta with that man? Hand me that day cab. I'll run it for you. Maybe need a hotel for a while.

then it's on him..he refused work...don't you pay him.

any trucker worth his weight will take a truck, and drive it, as long as it is DOT compliant.

i worked for a company out of Richmond, VA, all WE HAD was day cabs, and we had to go from upper MASS to as far south as Concord, NC..guess what, they are called MOTELS, that we stayed at.

then we'd go from Concord, over the Louisville, KY, then back to Richmond, VA, then back to upper MASS

    yes...all IN A DAY CAB.

wasn't until about 6 years later we finally got sleepers. and those were SIT IN sleepers...!!!!

now that i know the story, irregardless of what "little things" he does not look for, he refuses to work, fire his arse......

    that's how i'd take it, he's refusing.....

So you gave him a truck that was falling apart and because of that the truck is in the shop?
And there is no way a brake issue is the cause of the delay. The delay is the regen issue which is not something a driver can check.
No, you are just looking for excuses to screw a driver. Of course any driver that is willing to take the abuse of driving junk and sitting for 3 weeks has got to be kept. He'll more than likely stay when you throw more crap at him, poor #######.

and when he tries for unemployment, you simply say, "he refused work"....

let's see him go to thier office and plead his case. it can take weeks for him to collect unemployment benefits.

sounds like an entitled little beech to me.

from what i gather, the alleged driver wasn't doing proper pre/post trips, and not reporting problems, PLUS he damaged the trucks bumper. to me, cause for firing, a steering wheel holder.

Maybe. We are only hearing to owner's side. The owner who doesn't even know what is wrong with his truck. Like mentioned before, wtf is a brake leveling valve and why would it take 3 weeks to fix?
No the 3 week issue is chasing down the regen issue, which is not something that can typically be caught on a pre/post.
