I'm sure each province is different however I have sued employer on grounds of wrongful dismissal and won. When you go to court with the company the hearings are held with peers who obviously have no sympathy for the giantIf a company fires you because they don't like your attitude after 90 days they are wise to pay up 6 weeks to avoid court action and employee is wise to take the 6 weeks pays and hobble across the road to the next employer.
My friend pitched his employer out the front window of the guys house over lease dispute. In court it was apparent employer was a douchebag and judge gave my friend conditional discharge(which is a nothing,,keep nose clean for a year and there will be no record) Its how we roll![]()
To put in my two weeks or not to put in my two weeks, that is the question

Depends on the company aka will you ever see yourself coming back? If no to hell with the 2 week notice. Leave truck at terminal and give a right now notice. Another company will not give a #### about it as long as you didn’t abandon a load. This is trucking, otr at that people quit everyday. A lot just leave the truck anywhere. Leave it at the terminal and dip. If they were to fire you, you would be getting a right now notice. This is not some home corporate job where a notice matters. In trucking, another company could care less, just don’t abandon the truck.

Take the high road and give the two week notice. If they say just go on home now, then you didn't have to work the two weeks. Yes you are not going to be priority for two weeks, but thats part of it. Just two weeks.
