Lasik eye surgery

My wife had it done and it helped her tremendously.
She couldn't do anything without her specs... and had the lasik.
IMMEDIATELY she went to 20/15 and was reading things on signs before I could on the way home after surgery.
One hour after surgery !
It has since ebbed to a normal 20/20, but she is ecstatic because she had worn glasses her entire life.

It did not improve her night vision.
It was bad before the surgery and there has been no change.

They say every patient is different, but if you get half the results my wife did, I'd say go for it.

 

i thought about it. I heard they have to stick a needle in your eye. idk but that's going to scared the crap outta me

 

Best friend had it done.
He could no longer drive at night.
He would have paid 10 times as much to
Have his glasses back.

Think of it this way.
It's your eyes, what if they make a mistake.

 

my wife had it done a long time ago. worked out really good for her. her eyes were sensitive to light for a while afterwards but greatly improved her vision. has not worn glasses sense and her vision was pretty bad prior.

she has 20/20 vision now i accually have better than 20/20 vision. but she sees a little better in the dark than i do. but did have sensitivity to light for a while maybe thats why your buddy has trouble driving at night now. it may improve she does not have light sensitivity issues anymore.

 

I had it done in 1999. Now in my mid-50's and still seeing at 20/25 or better. Never had any problem with night vision, though I do throw on a pair of glasses once in awhile to sharpen my visible at night when I'm tired and in poor visibility conditions like misty rain/fog. Other than that, doc sez my eyes are in great shape. Dr. Robin Beran "the laser man" is still advertising and doing the procedure in Columbus OH. I travelled to use him years ago when he was affiliated with Ohio State hospital and the surgery was still fairly new.

 

I had mine done 4 years ago. For the first 4 months night time driving. After that my eyes healed great. I will say allow 2 weeks after surgery to return to work. Everyone is different on healing. I bought those yellow hd night time glasses at trucks stops. While they are ugly they worked great at night time for those 4 months.

 

I had mine done in 2005 . my eye site was so bad the dr. didn't know if he could do it . the computer said he could do it and he called the maker of the machine an he said no problem it can be done. some people may see halos when cars approach you at night I didn't have that trouble, my night vision improved. they did not use needles they put drops in your eyes the numb them. I had mine done on a Thursday and Monday I was back in the truck driving .. after it was done my eyes felt like I had been swimming at the pool all day. the wife had surface lazer done her eyes took longer to heal. her cornea lens was not thick enough to have the lasik done.

 

In regards to needles in the eye. I was diagnosed with wet AMD in my left eye in early January. I am now having a series of shots in my eye, once every 4-5 weeks, until thing's improve or for the rest of my life. As horrible as it sounds, i can't feel the needle. They apply a deadening fluid, then in about 5 minutes, he injects a minute amount of more deadening, and then about 10 minutes later, he injects the medicine in the top of my eyeball, as i look down. I can actually see the medicine flow into my eye. There are a few "bubbles" i can see, but those go away by the next day.
I has heard of this treatment a few years ago, but like most people couldn't imagine having it myself.
I now know i should never had said "stick a needle in your eye" as a kid.

 

Had prk surgery done in 2006 and still have 20/20 vision. My eyes hurt too bad to even open for the first day after. Took about a week to feel normal again but have not had any problem since. Night vision is fine too.

Whole thing cost about $1,300 for both eyes. Took only a couple minutes to complete with their laser gun. I remember almost feeling ripped off because it seemed so simple.
