Springdale, Arkansas .48CPM, New 389 and Great Dane Reefer and Profit Sharing

One truck operation is seeking a clean, responsible and experienced OTR reefer driver to operate a brand new speced out 389 Peterbilt and new Great Dane reefer. Being a one-truck operation you will literally have one on one attention.

Operations
- Reefer freight
- Based in Springdale, Arkansas (truck will be parked here too)
- Operate 48 states
- Seldom Northeast (unless driver has preference to run there) and California
- Target to run 2,500 to 3,000 miles a week
- Home time is flexible but not expected to be on the road more than 2 weeks at a time

Compensation
- 0.48 cents per mile (empty and loaded). Performance review annually
- 8 Days of Holiday Pay @ $100 each
- Profit-sharing (We are a team and want to share in the success)
- $1,000 retention bonus paid out every 6 months
- Drop and pick-up pay (after the first one)
- This is a W2 position

Benefits

Requirements
- Valid CDL A and clean MVR
- 3 years OTR and Reefer experience
- No preventable accidents with in the past 5 years
- No DUI or DWI in past 10 years
- Pass a drug test and will be randomly screened going forward
- Current DOT medical card
- Must live within 50 miles of Springdale, Arkansas
- No smoking will be allowed in the truck

Well that's not easy to answer because everybody's situation is different and a different required rate of return. For me this isn't my sole source of income and an investment for me. But this doesn't mean I'll be hauling cheap loads. I know what my operating cost is per mile and won't budge.

The driver shortage isn't a rocket science. Sure, you have a shortage if you pay some of the going rates out there, but if you pay a livable wage and provide top notch equipment the shortage subsides. It's really basic economics of supply and demand.

I'd suggest if you pay little bit more and have brand new equipment, it's cheaper in the long run from a driver and maintenance standpoint.

If I had 5 trucks I could have filled all of them with top notch drivers, so at the end of the day you pay for what you get for.
