My first driving job was a local one.. for a plumbing supply company doing flat bed. Zero experience.. I went to truck driving school but they never asked for any proof. I just went on a road test with a guy, and he said I drive like I've been driving a while and hired me that day. Companies are pretty desperate for drivers right now, I'd maybe talk to a few companies either locally or long haul, explain your situation and see what they say.. Maybe they might give you an opportunity or maybe they just might give you a no answer.. What do you have to lose?

Your post is a example of a run around.
You have the hard copy of CDL from your state. it's good anywhere in the United States, if not also in certain other countrys.
This CERT BS steams me. Get the credit card to reverse the charges because you did not get the one thing for which you paid for.
Having a group of mega carriers interested in a peice of inkjet printed Cert is BS. There are thousands of employers who will see your CDL A with the endorsements etc. and your DD214 and hire you prompt. (Thank you for your service.) especially that you are a Vet. FAST.
Get your clawback and go run for someone who will hire you on that CDL without the run around BS on the precious cert. -

I'll take corrections all day long.
THANK YOU.
See, that's the story of my life. Devil dances on the minor details. I got the big stuff but I am hung and then eviscerated on the tiniest of details.
It's all good. I am in a good mood tonight. I'll keep that in mind for the next person down the line in the future for sure.
In my state (Arkansas) we have what is called a Grandfather. Once you hold a CDL long enough but no longer drive for variety of reasons, you are allowed to keep it. And so I did, just had to sign tier two without a DOT medical card to go with it.
The laws have gotten seriously tight in the last 4 years or so from my view at the revenuer. I turned in my CDL in 2013 due to reasons I prefer not to get into again here on this post. Life is easier with just a tiny car license.Emgee Thanks this. -
I have been utilizing my CDL since '98. Held more than a dozen various truck driving positions, and I have NEVER needed a flipping "certificate of completion". Most places I just walked in with a CDL and took a road test and peed in a bottle BAM!!! Making $$ a couple days later(once the drug test cleared) Now I will be the first to admit that the last "big" outfit I ran for was Indian River back in '04,but the above scenario is exactly what happened there as well.
x1Heavy Thanks this.
