Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Leese, whats the best Company?

Let me say this, IF YOU CAN PAY CASH, and still have a few bucks in the bank after all is said and done... I still don't know if I would do it...
Yea, I would, just because I am stupid, just ask my wife! Just don't get in over your head. If you have a wife and kids, think real hard about it. There is a hell of allot more to this o/op stuff than you can imagine in regards to cash layout. And do not live on credit out here, you will not make it unless you have one hell of a bank roll or something to fall back on. And when I say one hell of a bank roll, I ain't talking much, but it is allot to most of the guys here.
Mikedavan2004 Thanks this. -
I always figured 20k min set aside for the first month and learn to love Raman noodles
davan2004 Thanks this. -
i eat ramen noodles now i'm a Swift driver with under 1yr experience and low miles. it's the only way i save money.
-
Well Swift is turning to more O/Os and are helping with one of the runs to OK that my company is doing at the moment and it is #### deppressing watching these guys work for nothing and most don't even know it
davan2004 Thanks this. -
Right now, most of us, at least the guys I run with, are looking at these leases as temporary until things turn around. Problem is, we think it will be awhile until that happens. So, we just make the best of what we got for now.
Mikedavan2004 Thanks this. -
Well I get the getting by part but it seems from what I see there is a case of taking advantage of newbs with stars in there eyes as is common but still wrong but on the good side it will be a lesson learned for some although a costly one
It must really suck to be looking for work at the moment but an ad in for a driver yesterday and phone started before 6 this morning -
An ad for a driver? Your phone must be in meltdown. I hated hiring drivers, normally had to go through ten to find one that even had a clue about the industry they were employed in.
As far as the newbs, not a good time to be one. I would recommend a couple of local jobs. McDonalds probably pays better right now, and you are home every night.

Thanks a lot. Like I said Ive been Driving for a while now but did not know
much about the Leese thing. I'm not jumping into any thing with out knowing the facts. It's crazy because so many company's are leasing there trucks now and so many Drivers are taking the bait.

All I can say is you got lucky and the customer was smart as wood.
I paid to move 3 of those in a pup from Yellow for $1750 East PA to Nor Cal.
Frame the picture. You'll still be telling that story when you're back in diapers.
