1.5-2yr experience driver looking to buy first truck

    I have been in a 2015 Cascadia since last August. It had 373k miles on it when I got in it, and now it has about 451k. It has gone to the shop 5 times for emissions issues, and right now it has a check engine light on. This time it’s an easy fix I think.

    I drove a Volvo for 500k miles, and rarely idled it. The only emissions issue it had was cleaning the doser injector, new Nox sensors and the dpf cleaned twice. If you are going to buy a Cascadia make sure it has an APU and check the idle time on it. These trucks cannot idle without clogging these systems up.

    Don't let anybody stop you, run your numbers, calculate everything in a long run ( what I mean by that is determine costs for the life of truck " before rebuild") and if that make sense go for it

    I'm of the opinion, that the money is in the trailer. Find a spec'ed trailer, giving yourself as much diversity as possible. And then the backhauls you couldn't go after before, are now there for the taking.

    Is your center column monthly costs?
    And if it is, I can see plenty where your off track, take for instance your 2290? How is that factored at $90/month? 10% dispatch? more like 5%. Oil changes? $551? Where do you get your oil changed? Do it yourself.
    Not trying to be an A%&, but, I'm not agreeing with your figures.

    If you look carefully those numbers for 2 trucks
    2290 is 550$ per year divide it by 12 and you got 45.8$ a month multiply it by 2 = 90$ for 2 trucks
    Oil change is the same ( usually done at Speedco)
    10% is dispatch fee running under my authority ( 2% going to factoring company and 8% goes to company)
