Why would you do it without a cc, unless you dealt with them before?

 

No cc up front? No need to further the call. You probably just learned the lesson the expensive way. A good customer shouldn't have a problem with this practice considering how many shysters there are in the trucking industry.

 

If it's -35 And they need your help
They will fork over a cc number
If not. Tell them to call someone else.
Or tell the driver to call the cops for a ride to a warm hotel. Or light the truck on fire.

I can second the fact that main line transport is flakey as fak. I didn’t get screwed over like you but I had lost a bit of overtime and wasted my evening because of these losers. They were hounding me all day about picking up some tires I had for sale. I made arrangements to meet their driver. I left work early to meet the guy, then he quit answering the phone. His number is 204-979-2342. Kept using different names in emails from Fred to manny. I’m going to go far out of my way to make sure this company loses some money and time of their own.
They were in Edmonton last night sounded like they were going back to Manitoba.
