Now here we sit and wait. They told Bill the 1st wk of November they were ready for him. It's Dec 20 and of course the money is gone. They told him yesterday they wanted to wait til after the holidays to get him started. Wish we would have known that then. Could have tried to live on 200 a wk from Celadon til after the 1st of the year. Oh well, when it sounds too good to be true it usually is. Hopefully in January we can get rolling, til then another broke Christmas:biggrin_2553:but we'll be ok.

bed buggin is where i got my start and i can tell ya what it can be SHADY! Keep a real close eye on the paperwork, and write the $##### out of your inventory,EVERYTHING IS scratched, bent, broken, worn, even if its new. The Shipper will always put in a claim on thier stuff. And it comes right out of your settlement check BEFORE you know about it and have to fight it to get the money back. Example, I had a claim once on a dinning room set on a military move (local move for bekins) Shipper claimed that we broke all of her dinning room chairs and wanted to be reimbursed monitarily. So ........every week i would go around to all the shippers home on the base that we moved the prior week before and pick up all my boxes for reuse( wich is something you will learn to do in Big hurry if you want to keep costs down) MATERIAL AINT CHEAP!!
So anyway, back my story! the claim came thru and was paid before i could fight it so since i was in the neighborhood i stopped by the shippers house and low and BEHOLD guess who was sitting the dinning room chairs THE BROKEN DINNING ROOM CHAIRS WERENT SO BROKEN after all. So after advising the shipper of violations due to TMO regs and how it would and could affect her husbands rank and possible disciplinary action. The shipper promptly called TMO and explained how it was all a big mistake. BUT... it stilltook me 8 weeks to get my money back

No, he averaged 230.00 a week take home. His friend is leaving Celadon for the exact same reason, he's broke. Go ahead and try them LOL

I know several drivers at Celadon - and most are taking home an average low of 550 - and an average high of 800....

something does not ring true here...

did your hubby make someone mad at celadon???

With Celadon, it depends on which fleet/board you're on. There are certain fleets/boards that get miles and certain fleets/boards that don't.

He never made anyone mad there. The only absolute thing he refused to do was run illegal. No one protects the driver's CDL except the driver and God forbid if something happens while he is over his 14, etc.... It was never really an issue anyway because he never got the miles in the first place. His driver manager was Janet, don't really have anything bad to say about her, it doesnt seem like it was her fault which runs he got, unless I am extremely naive. (?) He seemed to think the planners decided where he was going and she just relayed the info. Any insight in this respect would be helpful!!!:biggrin_2552:

Your husband must be on the Canadian fleet because they are the only ones getting the miles, and even they are not getting that many right now because Bill's friend was on that fleet and he just quit due to lack of miles. No one has a choice which fleet/board they get put on; when you get hired there are you supposed to hope you hit the FLEET/BOARD LOTTERY??? I wasn't aware of any seniority system going on there. As far as dispatchers go, they have no control over what loads you get, and what loads you dont. The planners decide what load changes/loads take place. Between tolls, poor dispatch, short miles, layover, I have no idea what you are talking about. Im not whining about this, I am calling a spade a spade. That is what is going on there.
