Ya i have to almost agree with you there--the northeast is at times a challenge. I, personally, would do NY and NJ anyday over chicago--thats the one place i detest more than anything. My last company i worked for--i thought i lived up north. Lots of trips through NJ,Ny, new england states, etc.. I still hate NYC but would do it over Chicago anyday. LOL

Hi,
I have asked this question before and got no responce but I figured I would try again.
Has anyone, anywhere at anytime had any dealings with Associated Training Services in Victorville, CA. ?
They have a 3 week class for CDL.
Not sure which way to jump here....
Anything good or bad would be appreciated.

really great information! I am going to Clark State Community College in Springfield Ohio. The course is 5 wks. 2 weeks of class, 1week of skills (backing) and 2 weeks of road. I paid $4700 for the following: the entire course, hazmat background check, books etc, use of the truck for the exam, and I am getting college credits. Doing the credits just in case I would want to do other things than driving. No more than 3 students to a truck and sometimes only 2. Decent equipment and instructors. Good yard for the skills backing. I would highly recomend them for the thoroughness of the program. When I say I paid $4700, I paid my own way due to fact that I couldnt get any freebies since I wouldn't be a "displaced" worker. I was in the trucking industry but not as a driver, so I didn't qualify. I drive round trip 3 hours a day to attend. I did my homework on the schools closer and chose to make the drive. One guy asked me if I had ever driven and I said I had a 40' trl I pulled all the time. Can you back? he asked. Not well was my reply. Well, I'll bet you put your head out of the window. Conversation is going down hill now. Making a long story short, he had one truck, it was $6000 and hurry I have one opening left. NOT. The rest were well known bottom feeders who promise you'll be a driver in 3 weeks for $6500. Yes, it pays to do your homework and all of your advice was supurb.
