Bust my tail to get it there ASAP, then, if they do not want it when I arrive, go park somewhere nearby and deliver at the stated time. Document your arrival via Qualcomm or email or some such, if you are really paranoid.
What Would You Do? Conflicting instructions on load.

I would attempt to deliver ASAP, unless it's Walmart since they've been penalizing early deliveries.
-
IMO, you try to deliver ASAP. It would kill me to park 10 miles away on Saturday afternoon, wake up nice and early on Monday in order to be at the receiver a half hour before my appointment time, and see a dash full of CEL, MIL and SHUTDOWN lights that weren't there when I parked. I have bad dreams about those lights.
-
Since the instructions are too confusing I say don’t drive anywhere. Just sit around right where you are and wait for Monday when they can tell you.

Since this is Monday evening, why are people still giving advice on what to do with a load that delivered this morning?
And the OP waited until Sunday to post the question, which makes no sense.
Also, the OP said that no one answered at the customer, which means they are probably closed on Sundays. He could not have delivered before Monday morning in any case. -
To the OP:
It sounds like you work for Swift. I recognize the message format.
If so, pretty much ignore it.
The load is flagged as JIT, so it needs to be there on time.
Some JIT loads mean just that. Your appointment time is set up to get it there just in time for a production run. If it is late the whole plant may have to shut down because they don't have the cans (or whatever) they need.
Some places do not have the space to store very much, so everything is coming in and going out at the same time.
The message is just to give you a heads up that it needs to be there as scheduled.
If at all possible.
That does not preclude the possibility that you may have to shut down for certain weather conditions. Never trade safety for getting the load there as scheduled. -
Well, I did drive right away to the delivery sat for 2 days made the delivery which receiver was hour and a half late for. Now sitting in a small town Walmart now for 4 days.
And no, I don't work for Swift. I do work for another large carrier.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
So you rushed to get somthing to someone who was in no hurry at all to take that something from you? Yea i would have enjoyed my weekend enroute and just showed up Monday morning. I realize it still happens, but how often is it really that a consignee is in a hurry to take their junk?
-
Never mind the JIT. The appt time and date is all you need.
Run in there and be on the property when you get it there even if it is sunday morning and then camp.
I see no conflict. It's another hot load like always. As long you have fuel, food and fluids as well as entertainment etc to pass your time waiting to unload, you should be ok. If it is truly hot and vital and important someone will be there to get it off you. But one way or another Monday is the day. -
Well, they wanted you to be there "Just In Time" for your 6:30 am Monday delivery, or "As Soon As Possible" after that time.
