I was in Ann Arbor yesterday at the Apple store doing some Christmas shopping. I was speaking with the sales lady about how bad the roads were yesterday, as she was heading to MN for the holidays in a day or two. And I told her specifically about that stretch of road, even if the weather was not bad. There are always problems in that stretch of I-94.
And to top that off, due to over taxation and falling state revenues... Our wonderful, spends money like a drunken sailor, governor... Has decided to cut our state snow crews and limit the work hours to ten hours or so a day.
And it is showing today too. Lot's of closed roads and accidents to numerous for the local radio stations to list. Icy roads and limited salt crews. Imagine that. I just called the wife and told her to stay on the back roads on her way home from work.

There are so many traffic jams today, that I am shutting down and going to go up thru there tonight instead.

The sun is shining here and still snowing, yeah #### lake effect, so be careful to anybody that comes through. They are also calling for another winter storm tomorrow with up to 12" on top of this crap.

Well sounds like no trucks wrecked, so thats good to hear, sounds like the one involved was just stopped. I had to stop on the interstate twice in the last 2 weeks cause of cars sliding all over the place in front of me, one guy stopped dead center of my lane driver side door about 100 feet from my bumper. Glad I was staying way back when these cars went out of control in front of me, and both times I had 40k plus in the van.

Yeah actually lots of semi's were involved in the one at mile marker 27 eastbound there were 12 big trucks and vague estimates from 20 to 35 cars piled up to. Go to woodtv michigan news station and they have some pictures of it, one A.D. Transport tractor got the cab completely ripped off the frame. It was a big mess I pulled up on it about 15 minutes after it happened and people were still crashing and sliding around trying to stop even though I was flalling my arm out the window for them to slow down. But you can help the people who dont care.Last edited by a moderator: Dec 22, 2008
