A trucker and a car driver were shot dead in their vehicles and a third person was shot and injured in his 18-wheeler, all within a two-mile radius. Makes me want to take the chance of having gun in truck.

Ohh yeah. On Criminal Minds last week the case was about a serial killer that shot motorist on the freeway. Just thought it was kinda creepy that this happened the week after that showed on TV. Next thing you know they will start regulating shows on TV.

WiseOne's Comments, that is so sad and senseless. My thoughts and prayers go out to these people's families. What is even sadder is it is only two days before Christmas...

The family and friends of these people will be in our thoughts and prayers here in southeastern Wisconsin.

A 'tip' for drivers going thru Dallas:

This may have nothing to do with this incident, but truckers stay out of the hammer lane on LBJ/635!

Locals hate trucks taking up the inner most lane (esp when there are 3-4 other lanes), and you may experience road rage (or will most likely experience road rage, if not just the finger!).

Regular drivers know that on I20 for a 10 mile stretch thru Dallas/Lancaster there are signs for trucks to stay out of the hammer lane ....but I would stick with that principle on the bigger, multi-lane freeways in general.

It's been awhile, but I believe they were looking at signing all the freeways around there since Big D is hi-traffic?!

You can disagree, but get ready for the finger coming at you (and hopefully not something else....):yes2557:

This was a nut and I doubt if hammer lane or not made any difference. 635 exits on t o 35 S to the left so there is no way in that area to avoid it. I30 through FTW has no trucks in left lane and it has worked out pretty well. Austin has the same. These are all 3 and 4 lane roads. Houston has the same in some areas.
If they find this guy or gal they probably forgot whose Birthday is coming up and flipped out. As for the finger-I have seen it used from TX to Europe to Dubai to Iraq. It is the universal symbol not just a TX thing.
Let's all say a prayer for this poor driver's family. They will not be having a merry Christmas.

    panhandlepat Thanks this.

Believe that this happened on the 635 in the Garland area (NE Dallas).

Road rage is 'additive' and many will reach the breaking point---this guy may have?! I never had a problem in TX, but the big cities of Dallas (& Houston) are full of "non-Texans," as in translated out-of-staters!!

This is no slam against TX, but metro-types are a different breed than the natives....:biggrin_25525:

Just saw noon news update. 1st driver shot and killed in car in Garland. United Van driver shot on 635. He died after getting to the side safely. Another trucker shot and lived on 635.
Police are looking for a tan Ford F-150 with loud pipes. White male mid 40's is suspect. He better hide real good cause they are looking for him real hard.
