Im leading them horsies straight to the waters of zero tech.

I never thought the tech would warp our ability to at least earn a dam dollar. Ive wasted a life time rolling a giant inflationary ridden stone using a old mythology story.

Ive been wondering if I bought out the entire stock of say Gliders in Crossville TN, about a thousand of them, built a trucking company advertising no tech, just paper logs, grease and oil come on one and all drive for me.

I bet you that company will prosper beyond reason, as a indian summer does just before the blast of winter.

It's too bad I don't have ten million dollars or more to put money where my mouth is and get this show started.

The feds will just write regs outlawing gliders eventually.

I have personally benefited from technology. I have no interest in going back to horse & buggy, candle lighting and whittling sticks by a camp fire ;-)

Shutting down other peoples' business was the goal of the megas with the new regulations so she played right into their hands.

Satellite comms and location tracking were the two break throughs. As soon I was up with a laptop and a GPS signed by President to be fairly accurate between 15 to 50 feet on the planet after 1994 I think it was and disposing of the pay phones and cash tolls (Transponders)

These improved life for me on the trucking side. Immensely.

However. When it's twisted around and turned into a enforcement against the driver (Driver facing cameras etc) for example there isn't any point.

I know at some point the way of life that I know as trucking will eventually be banned, outlawed and so forth committed to the dumpster of our history. There will still be trucks. But Im afraid that they would be so neutered and fail the nation in the future when we really have need of them.

I might even dare say in order to improve trucking, you need to build truck only roads, ban cars and everything else not specifically 18 wheeler class A. And roll em at 120 mph. Put towers every 30 miles if you have to for tracking etc. It might not even be 18 wheels, maybe road trains or platooning.

We can put an awful lot of people to work to support such a infrastructure and maintain, repair the tires, computers and so on all along the exclusive roads. Freight should become pretty nice when it will get from LA to NYC in about roughly 30 hours or a little bit less including loading and unloading.

Maybe even spend a dollar to cover everything over. NO more winter storms BS closing Donner etc. Its pernamently fixed.

There is a wonderful article about detention. I think the Brokers will have to be regulated even more to ensure that one hour of detention, the driver gets X money, carrier gets X money and no ifs buts or exceptions. That should cause the worst of the shippers to hire many young adults to lump the freight into the truck in 20 minutes and gone at every one of their 100 docks.
