Another thing to thank the megas for. They breed this consensus and contempt for Owner Operators. They're rife with it. They teach them to stay out of the right lane regardless of their speed, tell them to not get a CB radio, teach them that we're the most dangerous trucks on the road etc etc. Meanwhile, they're training their newly recruited meat in the seat to be everything they claim WE are doing. The irony is glaring. Congress only does what they get PAID to do by anyone with enough cash to get their attention.

I always knew elogs would separate the men from the boys.
6-4LOL -
That's alright though, you make a 100k a year on elogs, so you must be really smart
Tucker is so far advanced he's going to create an app and make millions selling it at 70 dollars a pop LOL.Trucker61016, DSK333 and Oxbow Thank this. -

Have a good week Scooter.Scooter Jones Thanks this. -
I talked to a driver that lived in Ohio and every week he took a load to Denton, TX where he dropped and grabbed another trailer and took it back to his hometown.
3,000 some miles every week and he didn't want elogs because it meant less time at home.
He did that one load every week, if he could run it in 3 days then he got 4 days off. Do it in 4 days and you get 3 days off, I bet he drove while he was so tired he was all over the road just to get back home a few minutes sooner, -
Your elog putting you on line 4 when you should be on line 3 is just as much falsification as going to line 1 or 2 to secure your load. You are inaccurately recording your HOS either way. And yes, elogs will generally move you to line 4 automatically after a length of time (which varies, depending upon settings) spent not moving. I've been running the HOS app on my GPS to get in the habit of making duty status changes and other entries while I'm still on paper so that I'll be less likely to make an error if I ever have to activate the companion ELD. There have been more than a few times where I'll be stopped for a train, long red light, or even just waiting for traffic to clear so I can pull out, and when I start rolling again it tells me "you're not logged onto the drive line, would you like to change duty status?" Not only is that a distraction while I'm driving, but it has inaccurately recorded my time as it should have been line 3 time sitting there waiting for the train, NOT line 4. Similarly, my ability to roll around customers yards while on line 4 also show it to be inaccurate, as ALL time at the controls is supposed to be logged on line 3. "Yard move" is a work-around created to allow ELD's to falsify what should be logged on line 3, showing it on line 4 instead. Sure, either way counts against your 70 (as it should), but properly logged it would be driving time counting against your 11.easytopleez33, DSK333 and Oxbow Thank this.
