Well I myself am no longer with Prime. I left in late January 08. I have a local job now and am doing quite well. I didn't leave Prime on bad terms. although I did walk away from the lease a year early. I had IRS issues from many years past. I have since resolved them and told myself If I ever decided to go back on the road I would go back to Prime. I made good money with them. My prob. is I don't care to team and if you want to do well that is about the only way you are going to make any serious money over the road. So if you are planning on being a Solo lease operator you can pretty much plan on staying out on the road indefinatley. Home time will be rare if you plan on making money. I did ok I guess, I don't miss it though. but I guess if push comes to shove and I had to I wouldn't think twice about going back to Prime. I know just before I left there things were changing at Prime. They started getting crappy with folks for some reason and not just the Drivers but with the Vendors as well. Maybe it was just a few folks but lots of us noticed some big changes in their level of customer service and it wasn't for the better.

If you are running a lease, you don't really have a "paycheck". you have a SETTLEMENT, which is a business reconciliation of expenses versus income... standard business things. You don't pay cash for the load locks, etc. you get at the terminal for tax reasons... which if you were running a BUSINESS (and you ARE) would make perfect sense. These things are TAX deductions on your business. You want to pay cash for these things? Get them on the road. Difficult to explain all this to someone who thinks a lease is just another job. It is not. It is a BUSINESS. This is why Prime (and other lease programs... some of which ARE not good) gets so much bad press from drivers.pawpaw Thanks this.

you still a wannabe so how do you know this..... maybe since your a future driver maybe you need to try out S, or W or maybe CR -
if you cannot perform duties as called for per driving the truck maybe you need a hard lesson.... since you cannot get loads made to there destination on time maybe swift or werner will allow hours and hours of service failures...... thats the problem with some of the new drivers once you get yor truck, you become what is called a truck stop cowboy..... and get advances everyday... its like loaning the person money.. go to the bank and see if they won't loan ya money for free...
