I get that, but there are some that have ran local their whole careers and have probably had enough.

    That’s certainly understandable at times.

    Dan.S and TankerP Thank this.

You're a slave to any company, even if you own your own truck.
Where are you in CT? Maybe a temp service that hires cdl drivers can help and maybe bypass the refresher. Personally, I'd rather go through a refresher just to learn the new rules and regulations and Elogs.
Wadhams Enterprises has plenty of jobs and a refresher and runs Northeast lanes.
Abilene Motor Express has refresher and a Northeast division.
Prime Inc. has refresher and a Northeast food grade tanker division.
There's probably dozens of companies available to you.

I’m looking to run flatbed. Don’t want to run a box ever. Any suggestions?

Senn Freight Lines runs a lot of west coast runs.

Western Express probably keep you mostly northeast if that's what you want. They run everywhere, but do have Northeast regional.

    INDEED.

    Then...

HA if you think you can get out of some kind of refresher. Give me a hour with someone in that semi. They will know #### fast that I can run em. But it means nothing at all because the last oh... many years I aint touched a semi for wages. HA...

All I can tell you is smile and go through the three ring circus. Sooner or later you will get your own truck issued.

This industry has changed and it's probably not for the better. I hate to be difficult. But Mack is right 30 years does not mean a #### thing to any employer now. What with the 7 to 10 year limitation to DAC (Hallelujah! not...) all of that does not exist. I might as well be treated as a newbie. HA....

what gets me more than anything would be a trainer who is 25 years old. To me that's still a child.... wouldnt last 10 minutes in that thing, no disrespect.
