First, never be late to food places outside of things you have no control over and you did not screw around early in the trip.

But second, it seems you may unfortunately been the one to bring in a product they ordered wrong or unintentionally and did not have space for, and being late, this gave them an out. Otherwise that could/would have found a place for it.

If they were on the verge of running out of that product in the coming week, they would have found an earlier slot.

But, theme again, if a broker load? Anything is possible as far as where the secondary blame may be applicable.

 

Go to a buisness supply store(staples etc.) get a sighn board find a nice lot somewhere and set up a food for sale stand.

 

Heck, if it were a CHR load for UNF, you'd have to reschedule + $250 out of your agreed rate.

 

Or you could document that you were in fact there at the receiver. They refused delivery. Next get ahold of a cold storage facility and go back to the receiver, and let him know that this load comes off in the next hour or she's going to the cold storage facility. But, you have to document everything!! And let the Broker know.

We do have very different definitions of late is all I can say. You wouldn't last long here where I work hauling the freight we haul and having to compete with who we have to compete with.

 

4 pallets ? I'd take it to a cold storage or temp controlled LTL carrier and take the loss .
