Hey dude,
sorry if I go off topic but I saw that you are from southeast Michigan like me and I applied for Magnum and I was wondering how the home time is working out for you. Do you get consistent home time if you want to? I saw that the terminals are quite far from our state so I was curious how is working for you.
Thank you. -
I don’t take home time very often. But they are flexible with it. There isn’t a set “1 day per each week out” policy like most companies seem to have, but that’s a great starting point. I’ve never been denied or questioned about home time... but like I said I don’t do it very often. Others on here may have better info on that. But I’m pretty sure if they could not get you home reasonably then they wouldn’t hire us out of that state.
We have loads delivering in Paw Paw (I always hear about it, but I’ve never had it), Fowlerville, Lansing, Brighton, Detroit... I’m sure there are more but that’s all I can think of. Sometimes I deliver in Columbus, OH then go home from there. I went home from Milwaukee WI once too.
Most of the time I pick up out of Napoleon OH coming back on the road. But I usually start on mondays. So depending on the day there are other options. I also picked up in Grand Rapids once.
I don’t always get home the exact date I request, but it’s usually only 1 day early, 2 days early max. For the most part I get there when I request though.
My Hometime is usually only a few days and are months apart. I did take 10 days off recently. This is by my choice. There’s no reason I can’t take home time every month.
ive Only been to Michigan one time when I didn’t request home time. I just happened to be delivering there.
I hope that helps.Paul T800 Thanks this. -
Thank you very much brother. And yes. Your post helped quite a lot.
I had no idea how home time works with magnum and even if each personal experience is different the fact that we are from the same area is for sure a big help to have at least an idea of how could be. Thank you again! -
I usually request 4-5 days for home time. Last time I stayed out 2 months. Good luck finding parking though depending on where you live. That seems to be the bigger hassle at the moment, MI isnt exactly trucker friendly.
