Read there safety policy these days most companies during orientation will list a whole range of rules that are required for a driver to either observe or follow if you've signed to say you've acknowledged this then they have you over a barrel they can bring this out and show you your signature, the trouble is like most of us there's like a 1000 different company rules to remember and who can do that? That's why i'll quite frequently go over the company driver handbook of rules.

Hand, the best advice I can give you at this point is ASAP get in touch with JBH and amend that job history. Don't wait until you hit orientation to do so. You might find yourself on a bus headed home.

Actually,it is a policy at most places that tankers load/unload that when loading/unloading that you WATCH YOUR S### AND NOT YOUR PHONE.

Playing with your phone while loading/unloading at a customer can actually cost your company the contract.

One more point. Hand, you are required to list ALL employment where you held a CDL for up to 10 FULL YEARS. This is per FMCSA policy and your current employer is required to start upon hiring you and maintain every year a driver qualification file on you. Even if you were employed for an hour you should be totally honest and list these periods. This industry is heavily regulated the civil fines levied by the FMCSA can be high for failure to comply. Please never forget this. I hope everything turns out good for you. JBH can be a great place to drive.

That’s what I said. It’s company policy. I have hauled liquid asphalt, fertilizer, and gasoline so I know the safety conscious side of tanker. I just wouldn’t volunteer the info. I would be honest about why I left the company, but I wouldn’t say “hey, guess what I did?”

They should contact his last employer to verify his work history. Responses like "Terminated for violating company policy" and "Ineligible for rehire" are big warning signs for the better companies, not the JBH is a better company. They could probably care less.

Most of the time the reason for leaving is Quit or Terminated. The summary rarely gets deeper into the reason. On the summery 3 pieces of information are released. Dates hired and last date worked, reason for leaving, rehire status. A big red flag is any reason quit or terminated followed by do not rehire. Thankfully unless a driver has really screwed the pooch this part says rehire after review.

To lose a decent job and now have to kiss up to an outfit like JB...it's like getting caught cheating on a hot girl and having to work really hard to woo a sweathog. Unbearable...

I believe the law states list all your previous employers for the last 10 years and period worked. If it comes up just say it wasn't a good fit between you and the new tanker company and we parted ways. I know when I look up an employee it shows them all. If you were drug tested its there. Don't sweat it.
