Not taking sides but my Stryker is the best sounding radio Ive ever owned, and also the best performer.

(Disclaimer I do not work for Stryker in any capacity ........no warranty is expressed nor implied. Your mileage may vary)

I don't know Tim, I am not knocking you but the advertiser.

Before they went into the trucks, I put them against real radios and they preform poorly, being a 10 meter radio means that they have broad front ends and that was really obvious with a lot of interference for near by 10 meter sources. So being a cb, they have a standard if strip and detector - it isn't even close to being a ham radio but just a CB, then there is the issue of calling it a 10 meter radio, it isn't, I have only met a couple people who use theirs as such, and then they can't actually do much with it because of the limitations it has.

Interesting, I use my 2970n2 on 10m too. All I did to it was run through the factory alignment. Bias voltages were sky high from the factory. Reset those, then peaked the radio board amp stages. Set am dead key to 70w. Set set sideband peak to 250 and modulation to 100% and nice smooth sinewave with 1000hz tone. No stupid mods, coil spreading or clipped limiters. Guys running $10,000 top end ham equipment tell me mine sounds like a million bucks. How many hack shops even have the equipment to do what I did?

I like the stryker but can't compete with a cobra 29 running the same watts on 11 meters.

    Who has $10k equipment?

If it is setup right, hell it would work but how much does it matter when the other guy thinks that they need so much echo that it buzzes your speaker?

I’m confused... in your first post, you said you converted it in only five minutes. This post says you had a tech do it?? Do you have more than one radio that you’re talking about?
