Nothing going to change until it's forced to change
Nobody going to come in and say we need more money because we are going to voluntarily put eld in our truck. They won't get the work. When the entire industry says it to the customers that's when the change is forced. No different than any of the other sectors. Or for that matter the fact new trucks cost more to own and operate than previous ones. The almighty dollar is what it all comes down to. How many people will say how good it is to be environmentally friendly or do it this way for safety reasons or buy goods made in America. Most of the same people saying all that #### practice none of what they preach. It takes an outside force to actually make anything happen.

One thing a lot of you are missing. If that load of toilet paper has to stop it is still toilet paper, but that load of live stock could very well become deadstock.
But again, it isn’t the ELDs it’s the hos.

saying its about the welfare of the animals is like saying the nfl cares about protecting the players from injury, its about protecting profit, if you believe otherwise you may as well be the cattle on that trailer. since when did eating big macs become a necessity for survival anyway? lol but thank you, my cat does love beef in his cat food lol

It’s not about the price of a steak. The packers with deep pockets won’t be the ones affected. If you notice none of their names are anywhere on anything having to do with the exemptions. They don’t care. It’s the little guy that will get screwed. That’s why the state Ag associations are the ones fighting for an exemption.

If you’re not familiar with how it all works it’s hard to understand that it’s not as simple as “just run team”. What’s your employee going to do when you don’t need them for 2 or 3 weeks? August, September, and a little bit in November and December I could’ve used a driver with me. The rest of the year I was fine. It would be hard to justify keeping someone around for that.
