Its part of the eld mandate, so federal.

It's a United States mandate, so it only apples to the US. It does not apply to Canadian drivers (that never cross the border anyway)

Tell your dispatch to not plan you on trips over 55 miles a day and you will never need a reset:thumbup:

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) "All the time spent operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) for, or at the direction of, a motor carrier must be recorded as driving time." How hard is this answer?!?

We're an EOBR Omnitracs user They recently dropped our speed threshold from 40 to 25. It's still manageable but they have been put on notice I'm done with trucking altogether if I'm forced to 5 mph threshold that I see a lot out here today. I won't play that silly game.

The 5 mph is actually an advantage for me. I like to deliver on my 10 hr break.

Until Dec 2019, when the aobrd goes illegal and then we're all using the eld rules, 5mph and all. Hope you can come to terms with it Tex, we need your experience and humor here. Mind you, I hope I can come to terms with it too, just the thought of it upsets me.

No I will not come to terms with that. Not the way I'm paid and in dealing with appointments all over the map. But I'm hopeful the FMCSA will come to their senses with sufficient push-back.

I will tolerate quite a bit of regulatory BS but I draw the line at having to drive 4 mph to preserve a break in situations I need to move.

If they want to pay a good hourly rate (as per eLog), and a good guaranteed minimum weekly salary then I might reconsider. All the missed loads and miles won't matter then.

Stop falsifying logs and you won't have to worry about it, OP.
