Let's think how lucky or crooked this guy is.
First he does all his training in a automatic,
Then takes his test in a automatic, and
Somehow by hook or crook gets his CDL
Without the auto restriction.

Then applys for and gets hired for a 80,000
Grand a year local job simply by lying about
What he could drive without having to at
Least do a five minute road test,which
Would have exposed him for the faud that he is.

Even bottom of the barrel jobs make you
Drive around the block a few times just to
See if you can shift gears.

This is either one lucky guy or he's paying
Off the right people.
The upside is he pulls this off.
The downside is 10 years in prison for
Getting hung out of gear and rear ending
Soccer mom and her 3 kids.

Could you imagine the firestorm on
Trucking if something horrible happened
And some dirt bag lawyer found out this
Guy never drove a manual, but somehow
Has no restrictions on his license and
Got a job without doing the mandatory
Road test.

All kinds of heads would roll.
They would blast that coast to coast
On the evening news.

The auto restriction on his license.
Is this a state by state thing or what.
I thought if you took the test in a automatic
They put that restriction on your license.

 

Pretty much sums up this 12 page thread. It'll be interesting to see if the OP has the courage to come back here after the fallout tomorrow. I'm curious as to an answer as well on the auto restriction, I still can't believe there even is one

 

Believe it's a state thing N.Y. changed it a few years ago and all the guys who had been taking autos for the road test(so they wouldn't have to worry about shifting properly) had to start taking manuels so they wouldn't get a restriction
