That would mean you bringing a lot to the table so that could be a good rate
-
I never said that youre asking what a good rate is ill go high and we can negotiate from there if you get my drift

That depends on the job.Last edited: Mar 29, 2018

If I was a driver looking for a job I'd be wondering about how my time was going to be compensated. That's as important as a rate per mile. Time is valuable. How are you going to compensate your drivers when the customer delays them for 6 or 8 hours when their 14 hour clock is already ticking? The companies who address this will have drivers and the ones who don't will not.
Tug Toy and diesel drinker Thank this. -
I wouldn't be too sure about finding drivers at that rate. We are a small company based in Indiana looking for drivers now, trying to start a refrigerated fleet. No benefits other than paid vacations, paid holidays, and a rider program. We are offering 25% of the truck gross, started off offering $0.40 per mile, to start and still can't find drivers. Been looking for about 3 weeks. Very few drivers want to be over the road anymore and the ones that do are asking closer to $0.50 a mile with as little as 5 years experience.
