Yeah I just really never liked the idea of 13 speed. I actually planned to avoid it. Just don’t see it necesary, are you sure everyone tests in 13’s?

It's nice, I enjoyed it. Those are the only manuals CFI has in their fleets. So if you do get lucky and get a standard then it'll be 13spd.
Personally I'm excited about getting an auto. I've never driven one so it's going to be interesting. And seeing as I only have 1 month of experience driving a standard I hope I'll have an easier time adapting to the autos as opposed to the old school drivers who grew up and mastered the manual transmission. -
I’d like an auto honestly. Just with my experience of trying to back one in school. They just seem less smooth and a lot more jump. It’s frustrating to say that he least for me. I like to just ride the clutch in the manualCerberus XVI Thanks this.

i heard the road test isnt too hard as long as you drive and act safe you should be ok
Cerberus XVI and Ultratowel Thank this. -
Yeah I asked my recruiter about it earlier today actually. Not nearly as strict as the dot test. Even if you hit a curb your still good. My Recruiter said just don’t brake any laws. Lol you better believe I’ll
Be ready to stop early at any stale green light -
Yeah road test is a cake walk, leisurely ride through Jopmo lol

Are you positive though they only test in the 13 speeds? That’s still a bit scary to think about lol. I’m gonna end up looking up videos to ty and learn it. I mean didn’t find learning the 10 speed hard at all and had it down within an hour. It was more just perfecting how to down shift without grinding
-
I just watched a video and I understand the concept pretty well. I just feel like it’s gonna confuse me to learn a new pattern and to work high and low gears with every individual gear while down shifting
-
Yes everyone tests in 13spds, and yes 13 spds are the only standards they have in the fleet with the exception of owner/ops that brought their own trucks. And honestly you'll learn 13spd faster than you did manual. Especially if your gamer and you've ever played on a racing simulator or anything like that

Youll get it lol, the Instructors already know that almost all of the new drivers have never driven 13spd. So they walk you through it before you start rolling.
