Hello, I saw a few threads on this CDL training program through Long Beach Community College that are a few years old, however.
Does anyone have recent first hand knowledge of this program? It looks like It is designed to get people to do port trucking in the port of long beach (meh).
Does someone have recent experience with this program to know whether or not students who complete this program and get their CDL A are required by some contract to do trucking for one of the programs port partners?
Thanks in advance

I called the programs coordinator, Mrs. Veronica Rodriguez at (562) 938 3064 (her email is vrodriguez@lbcc.edu) this morning. She said next classes are starting around May 2018. I believe it is an 11 week program, 4 hrs a day, but she is going to send me more in about 2 weeks.

Nope, my buddy graduated from there and went to work for Sysco...pretty sure contract training predominantly exists with mega carriers.
EphTrucker Thanks this. -
When I went we weren’t required to work with any specific companies.
However at that time the companies that helped provide funding did offer jobs to some of the graduates.EphTrucker and Chinatown Thank this.
