You can get away without edge protection, but your straps must be very tight, and if your straps start to flap, you gotta make sure to put a twist in them and retighten. You also can't allow your strap to go over the edges where the wire intersects and then stops. I've yet to have an issue yet

    Oxbow and cke Thank this.

I’m pretty anal about twisting straps. Anything over 3-4 ft and I’m putting a twist in it.

Oxbow, cke and Gunner75 Thank this.

I'll usually put my belt straps on my drivers side, and then the rest on the passenger side. Forces me to have to get out and walk around my trailer

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.

Question for you gunner. On the first piece on the lower deck, is there a reason you threaded the strap through the rub rail with it overhanging? Would it be better to have the straps outside the rub rail or no difference? Sorry to sound anal just curious.

    cke Thanks this.

It only overhangs on the front and back, the trailer is 96 wide, the product is 97 inches wide, I always go inside the rail

Do you use softeners where you pull over the rail? That’s still a fairly sharp edge rubbing against the strap.

cke, Oxbow and SAR Thank this.
