Not OK to take a passenger with a year of experience?

Almost every company has that policy in place. Even for veteran drivers. I left Shaffer to seek greener grass. Had 6 months experience, very few would let her ridge day 1.

 

You're lucky it's only two months and not three which is 90 days. Most companies have a probation period.

 

Companies are begging for warm bodies. Seems odd there would be any issue with bringing along a wife, GF or both from day one. I got passenger waiver along with keys and fuel card when hired

 

Is it unreasonable that a company would want to find out what kind of driver you are before they allow a passenger?

This whole "Excuse me?! What is this garbage?" crap is just that. Crap!

You are NOT entitled to simply do as you please.
Where does that mindset come from, exactly?

Yes. You must EARN it.
You have no RIGHT until it is given to you.
And there is no God given right to have a passenger with you. That is a privilege that you must earn.

In fact, there is only one (singular) God given right.
That is the right to choose, of your own free will, that which you will do.

 

I have driven for 2 companies that had "no riders" as a policy, I ignored the policy at both places so my kids could take turns going with me during summer break.

Both companies said "that is against the rules" and I said "so is 90 percent of what I do everyday", they both just laughed but that was a different time for sure.

 

Its their company, their rules. You wan't the job. You live by those rules.

AND, Even at a year, you still don't know anything.
Let alone the 16 years I'll have in June. And I've never had a passenger who wasn't a coworker.
