So I'm guessing this can have different opinions I just felt like asking cause I had a driver ask me a a year ago and he told me one way and I told my way and he made a point but it seemed like both of us were right and there was no only one way.
Do you guys leave your engine brake on all the time or only engage it when needed?
How do you brake?

And remember prohibited means required in English. So always do stage 3 through those small towns where they post a sign saying engine brakes "prohibited" lol

I leave mine on all the time. My truck is very quiet so the exhaust with the brake on isnt even noticable unless you know what to listen for.
stwik and Streetroddreams Thank this. -
I want to remember the signs mostly said the unmuffled use was prohibited. This shows how much attention I paid to them. A lot of OOs love to run those loud pipes. Now when that jake hits it's game on. A guy I know loves to do this around 2 or 3 AM.

This may not make sense to you or some of you, but I always leave a little extry braking on tap if I need it.
I might even take a lane or three trying to hog tie a truck gone wild with a 60 PSI brake application in a difficult situation so I can miss someone by this much.
To this day even in the car I brake the same, with a little extry ready for more, much more if needed right now.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
