im not saying you would use that exact paint. however i was bringing up the point that the cost of paint alone has doubled in probably the last 10 years. and yes a single stage paint will be a big cost savings over a base clear. though i would probably use a base clear even on a semi. there is a lot of sq footage to cover on a semi there for a lot of paint. i wouldent want prep work to be skimped eather as prep will make or break a paint job.

base/clear is better than single stage. the paint stays shiny many years if you use high quality clear coat.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet, too busy to have my truck out of commission for a week or 2.
I had them paint my cargo doors on my truck before I installed new lettering. They matched it really well, as I was told by other people it is a hard color to match.

He also said they have the largest paint booth in AZ, as they paint tour buses there regularly.

I went with a mid priced Dupont Imron replacement. Dupont "Rival" cost me $85/qt. for metallic Seminole Red. The activator was less than $50/qt. I just needed to touch up the sleeper corners that were peeling and a few other little spots.

Biggest mistake I made was using regular masking tape at the paint lines instead of auto body tape.

That new paint looks awesome though. Like vvhore red fingernail polish on my Freightliner girlfriend! Wish I had time to do the rest.

$8000.00?? If you're painting it the same color, then $1400 to $2800 is reasonable.[3 at most]

This paint job cost me $4500.

The white is basecoat clearcoat with a pearl in it and the top is single stage, he also painted frame black.
