:biggrin_2554:I have never heard of GTI paying for holiday meals. I don't think that they will pay for anything unless you have a PO#. I have paid for stuff for my truck out of my own pocket; simply because I don't want to deal with all the BS involved with getting something as simple as window wash or oil. That however, is my own issue because I don't have patience to wait on the phone for long periods of time or get asked a dozen questions as to why I need something. That is just the way all these companies are getting out there. Everybody is watchin every penney and budgeting for the future.

Just got back in for the new year. I am on the 10-14 day out fleet, more money. I heard they pay less per mile if you go home every weekend. I will be more than happy to answer any other questions you have. They did tell me they are only replacing drivers that leave and not increasing there fleet. Things are slow.

CornerCarver, I'm definatly intrested in GTI. There isn't as much "real world" experiences on them on the forums. So your time with them and your experiences will be appreciated.
    Keep us posted.

Hottub, not a problem. I head out Monday and will let you know how it goes when I get back to the house. I can not wait to get moving and making some money. I sure hope freight picks up sooner than later. I do have to say that my experiences so far have been fine. They treat you like a person, not just a number. When I got my truck I pointed out a couple of things and they were fixed, no questions asked. Take care and be safe

CC, What board are you driving on? What truck did you get? Dry or Reefer? My B-I-L starts on Tuesday and I am waiting for the call. Hopefully sooner then later. When you said they (Gordon) are only replacing drivers, is that a company wide thing or just in your area? Hopefully we'll see ya out there.

I will be in the midwest region pulling a dry van. I got the truck that a student would get, 430,000 mile white freightliner, no bells or whistles. I guess after I prove I can do the job and not tear up equipment they might up-grade the truck. I believe the replacement of drivers is company wide, freight is slow right now. I will be going out west in the spring and summer. I want to get some time under my belt before I go back into the mountains. I have to say I did enjoy my time out west, except for the blizzard on I80 in Wyoming with no visibility. That s!!!!!.
Good luck and hope to see you out there on the road

I run team for GTI, have been with them since august. We run alot of west cost. We are on the traditional fleet, 10-14 days out, but we stay out 4 wks, but we are switching to 3wks out, tht 4th wk we are just burnt out. Very good company to work for compared to most out there. Safety, safety safety, that is a must with gordon. It is very nice to not have to roll every weigh station, we hve only got the red light 2 times since augut, other then in or, wa, ky, other then that, all greens, and when we did getthe red, it was due to they were pulling everyone in. we luagh when we go thru the scales that we have to, they look at us, O, its gordon, and they walk away from thier desk, evn had one that started vacuming the carpet while we rolled scale, that says alot about the type of company gordon is. as for safestat score, we are tied with walmart now as well as one other cmpany, 3 of us all at 22, it takes alot for a company to get that low and keep it low. well, enough said. talk to you all later, just wanted to answer to some many posts I saw on here, o, before i forget, to the on on page one about us speeding on I-5 dong 65 in a 55, your on crack, west cost fleet trks are at 58, all others 63, so you might want to get your facts right before you go into a companys dac and start trashing it when you 1 havent worked for them and 2 know nothing about the company. this isnt a swift or cr england company, we at gordon all take pride in this company, that is what also helps to make it a top notch company. ok, enough from me. later

I'm really happy right now Because I just got approved by GTI for a job...pending my grades in CDL school. That won't be a problem at all....Can't believe the people who pay all this money to get a CDL and don't have a clue what's going on.I mean out of 10 people, only 5 will probably get the license. One guy thinks that when you push in a clutch pedal,it automatically applies the brake pedal too? WTF? LOL!!!A couple have NEVER drove a stick shift or even pulled any type of trailer whatsoever....2 of them don't even know what a fifth wheel is!!? I'm scared thinking that these people want to pull 40 tons down the road. You don't need to be the worlds best driver but come on....why do they even want to get in a truck for hours at a time? They must have painted some type of pretty picture in they're heads and now they want to drive.....just my 2 cents
