If you are pulling landstar's van you get 65%. If you pull your own van you get another 7%. Flats and steps you rent from landstar or pull your own and get paid 73% (I believe). Refer and specialized trailers are more

They don't "get you" hazmat during orientation. You have to have at least applied for your hazmat (fingerprints etc) within 60 days of your orientation.

I have a question. Is there any insurance that LS won't have that we will need to have to come over?
-
No, you can buy it all through landstsr. They deduct it out of your settlement. It's not cheap.
Cybercat Thanks this. -
Yes you must have a hazmat endorsement to lease to Landstar. Landstar pays 65% to the truck then another % for your trailer if you own or lease one. You pay a fee of $3.69 for the Landstar online fee.

I was asking because we will be coming over on tight funds to start. I wanted to make sure IF we needed insurance other than what they offer we had it in time. Glad it's not a worry since we can have it all handled first year by them. After that we will be after better options.

Unless they have changed it, the Unladen Insurance that First Guard offers doesn't include Uninsured Motorist. If you add that coverage it is quite a bit higher than the Gallagher policy, which does include uninsured motorist.csmith1281 Thanks this.
