show boost? just got a new gauge installed and was wondering when it starts to work.at idle 0 psi and when reved up still 0. do i have be under a load for it to pull boost? thanks for any replies in advance Walt

You need to be under a load to see it work. And a load can be the weight of the truck itself. Take her for a test drive, you should see it move a little bit.

It should show some boost. Although not much. And when it does, it will be very quick to drop right back down.
Is yours mechanical, or electric? -

mines a mech gauge its an autometer 0-35psi. walt

Take it out and run her around the block! Find an overpass to go over, that should get you enough load to kick in the turbo and move that gauge.

You can tell it wants to spin up. There just isn't enough load on it, to hold it. -
