Are there any ol' Monfort drivers still around? I was with them from '89 to '96 and looking for some of the good ol' boys. How bout ya "Okie",
"Rotwieler" or Cinci Kid"? Been awhile and alots changed. Give me a hollar, it's ol Happypappy and I'm in Houston now.

It took me almost 20 years, but I'm now a card carrying member of the "Monfort Lane".
Minus the Monfort truck, that is.
I remember having to give way to the Monfort trucks in my old 58 mph Freightshaker COE.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
58 mph, I bet you had to stop at the next state line and pick up your doors after we went by, Ha! Ha! Those were the good ol days. To much politics nowadays to even try to get away with the stuff we did. Have a good one and be Safe out there.
Fuelinmyveins and Lilbit Thank this. -
Haven't heard the "Monfort Lane" in a long time! I used to run with a lot of those boys in the early 80's when KLM (where I was leased) was a big truck company with lotsa Billy Big Rigger Chicken Trucks leased on, if you can imagine that. Don't remember anyone's name or handle. I do remember that truckin' was fun back then!
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
I remember seeing those Monfort of Colorado, orange and yellow KW K- 100's running across I-80 in the late 70's. I believe they ran that 425 Cat 1693 motor and the story was the teams made 2 turns a week from Co to NYC with boxed meat.
Yeah, the "Monfort Lane".
Baack, 1pissedoffdriver and happypappy25 Thank this. -
I started trucking in the 70's leased to Polar Express in Springdale , AR . I'd haul Tyson chicken to Denver then get a load of boxed meat at Monfort going to Niagra Frontier in Buffalo . Monfort was a different company then . http://www.answers.com/topic/monfort-inc

Yeah I remember the old KLM, they used to try to keep up with the "Circus Wagons" and did pretty good.

Thanks for the weblink, was informative and interesting. I had 5 trucks with Monfort, after the ol KWs, and hauled
Swinging
and later moved into the
Bullhaulin side along with keeping the Swingin trucks runnin. Kinda stunk when Swiningin died off but still pulled "The Ladies" Swinging Lamb (Kosher Meat) to Bean Town. Was nice to grab a few zzzzs while the Rabi did his deal while unloading.

Thanks for the pic. Sure brought back memories of the Ol'Circus Wagons.
