Problem is, the term ‘safe driver” becomes open to interpretation once the prosecutors and slip-and-lawyers get ahold of the video.

Swift removed theirs for a reason, and IMHO that reason was to avoid giving the above mention human filth any more ammunition than necessary.

Trucking is an employment of the last resort for overwhelming majority of drivers on the road, so there is no object too big not to fit in trucker's arse, because his back is against the wall. Once driver facing cameras will become a norm, I really do not know how truckers will be able to hang on whatever little remnants of human dignity they have. Personally, I will have nothing but pity and disgust both to slaves and slave owners pushing the envelope of human depravity to the new lows.

So you are ok with being a monkey in a remotely monitored cage. Wanna a brain implant with that? Freedom of the road has never been sweeter than this. They can trigger camera at a whim, no driving required. How much are you willing to take to earn a little money? If truckers, especially otr truckers, will accept this technology I am afraid the words "truckers" and "dirt" will become interchangeable.

No money to build dirt cheap parking areas to accommodate live people driving big trucks, but they'll spend trillions to make highway infrastructure suitable for automated vehicles. Highway automation is impossible as it is because highways are highly variable much unlike air travel or subway. First, they'll need to rebuild entire infrastructure to make it more predictable and suitable for automation. And, yes, that includes holding areas for automated trucks waiting to be dispatched, I doubt software companies will be fighting to win a contract to write an illegal parking sub routine.

    Veteran driver Thanks this.

Which Midwest Transport is this?.....there are several different ones.

There is one here in Kansas City KS. They have a towing division and
several Transportation divisions as well. I know they are putting the
ELD's in their trucks.....and have been having some problems with
    them.
