I guess that means a GAZZZILION lease purchasers didn't make it through the 26 payments before they went broke . No rocket science here .

Hell, I could see it. Why let the trucks rot in a yard? 26 payments at $1500 ea? That is near $40 grand? Now, if one can make the payment in this market, that is the question. But still smart on their end.

I dono if any Lease is a good idea in this market! If you find a company that gives you 2000 mi a week you will be doing well! Here is why I know and you can check my prior post to see I only speak the truth. Im looking for a new ride right now also. I made huge cash last year but we slowed to the point of almost zero cash now with no real hope in sight. I was thinking about doing a lease also. I reasearched the heck out of it and almost did (thank god for an honest recruiter at schnieder) IMO schneider has the best lease programe out there. You can lease a used OWNER OP speced truck(just go to there web site to check it out) with little or in my case no money down. The Financing is done through Schnieder financial. A totaly different inity then Schneider trucking. If you dont like the way schnieder is treating you for what ever reason you can take that truck anywhere your little heart desires! It will cost you 3600.00 to do so, but they say they are cutting you a huge break to sign with them. I believe it. I was gonna lease a 2006 KW T2000 with 330K miles owner op spec truck with a fridge, APU, 13 speed and honestly all the bells and whistles. My payment was to be 2000k per month. Schnieder withholds 6cpm for a maintance account that can be spent at any service center for maintance perps! (this is a good thing) Like I said I did a lot of research and this is bar far a great program. HOWEVER!!!!!!!!! Speaking with an honest schnieder O/O recruiter he told me that freight was very soft! Meaning that in the OTR O/O division they are AVG about 2200 miles per week! If you do the math you will find that makes a driver about 200.00 bucks per week take home! Lets say it gets even slower and that becomes 1500. your know working for free and in fact digging a hole you cant or wont be able to get out of! No matter how slow freight is your gonna have that payment! You dont own it, but you have to pay for it! And trust me they will come after you for the balance of your remaining lease should you fail at completing it! Its a business and its a way for struggling companies to try and recover funds in a time of need! TRUST ME, IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER THEY ARE GONNA COLLECT!
times are just to slow my friend to take that kinda risk right now! We all wann run down the Hwy in a brand new Pete with all the chicken lights and chrome shinning so brite it annoyeys other drivers! But it just isnt the right time!
Now if you are still hell bent on getting that New KW with the 2000K payment look into Central Ref transport they lease brand new KW W900.

    Keep us posted

Try looking around for financing yourself ... Its tight but available. Alot of companies use a finance/lease plan and the truck will be titled in your name.

That was an honest recruiter, because I am leased to Schneider right now with my own paid for truck. With my average weekly pay, I could not make a $2000 a month truck payment. Hell, I cant even pay my $1000 a month house note along with the rest of the bills!

Even if you lived in the truck, you would be hard pressed to make much more than a company driver. At least that is what I am finding out.
