sounds like your going with Bruce Oakley? how far are you going to be running?been
looking for a home for my truck and dump trailer.tired of letting my $30,000 trailer sit in the weeds.rates are so bad in florida there offering $125.00 for 170 mile round trip.and they want 3 trips a day.a full 12hr day for $375.00. take out fuel, insurance, etc it's a waste of time.. Walt

    no not OAKLEY
It is a small outfit close to home but.....

OAKLEy does get some freight from these guys as they own their own bulk logistics company for over flow and a few feed mills and it sits 3 miles off the major river port and within 200 miles of 5 others

Oakley from what I have heard has good runs talked to one of their drivers the other day said they pay by mile loaded and mt said rates were
    $1.55 in fsc (oakley trl)
    $1.73 ( yours)
Of course that flux with fsc weekly he was an dump trl said good hometome and about 2600 / 2800 week (miles)
Said they were good people and Bruce oakley takes care of his drivers

    He seemed very happy

But. I am not going to Oakley I am a company hand but would if I had my truck
That driver said they will finance wet kit pto or etc if u need it to at Oakley with small weekly deds
    Hope that helps u

All truck brands are, all optional, inside, outside, front, back, top, bottom. You are not looking for brand. You are looking for specs. How heavy do you need to load, how fast do you need to run, flat or mountains, etc, etc. Experience in what you are going to do is the only answer.

    Thumper,

I know how Swift specs their trucks and trust me their standard fleet trucks. For instance their Volvos are spec'd with 3.58 rears or 3.55, ISX400 ST2 (top 2 gears are 1850 torque or Volvo VED12 or 13 engines, 10spd overdrive, 75% fairings, 63in mid roof or condo sleepers. Have yet to see some 780 spec's.

The freightliners are spec'd with 2.93 rears, 9spd tranny convertable to a 13spd, detroit 430/470 engine, 70in condo sleeper, 75% fairings.

The t660 in my sig will get excellent fuel economy when spec'd right. Aero trucks make more sense but i still have a thing for pete 379's.
