So it’s been about 6 months. Did you go with the N13 and if so, what can you share?
-
Yea I did and actually can’t yet. I actually just purchased it a week ago and right now it’s in the shop being outfitted to pull tankers. I think it will be a great truck though
-
I’m curious about how the n13 is pulling for you? Any updates?
-
Still in the shop getting stuff put on. I should be in it in another week two tops
-
Well little update, it pulls great. I haul tankers so I’m at 75k all the time and it will handle most hills without loosing 5mph. Be warned about the diamond renewal process though. They tell you they replace the egr coolers and clean the dpf but I later found out that isn’t the case. I got a code for my egr coolers 300 miles into my first trip and was later told by the dealer out in melrose Park, il that they only replace them if they get the code to pop up while doing the renewal. Makes me wonder if they actually cleaned the dpf/doc as well then. I think they just do a dot inspection and slap a diamond renewal sticker on the door afterwards. Coolers were done under warranty so I’m not really complaining. Truck has been doing fine otherwise though. So far I’m still happy with my decision to purchase this truck.

The first N13A from years 2014 to 2016 have the same set up as the MF13. Somewhere in the middle of the 2016 production year is when they changed to the N13B(S/N-440000 and higher). The biggest differences is that they redesigned the EGR cooler and valve, Upgraded and relocated the ACV (Air Control Valve), Switched to conventional "International" sensors, and made the ITV/EGR mixer a two piece design. I have seen very few N13B engines in our shop which is surprising since we are right off of I-95.
