Wait, I just thought of a way a camera pointed at my face can protect me…
I’m driving down the road and a bird flies in the window and starts attacking me. I’m trying to get to the side of the road, but let’s face it, those birds can be nasty!!obviously I’m swerving from the vicious pecking
Cop is behind me and sees this and immediately lights me up for suspicion of driving impaired. I can say “no officer, I was attacked by a bird. LOOK, check my handy dandy drive cam!!!” Exonerated!
That’s all I got.![]()
Returning to an old job, I just requested an automatic and drive cam.

I would say a camera in my face would add a TON OF STRESS to an already stressful job. If they expect a driver to sit facing forward with both hands on the wheel robotically driving a truck for 11 hours a day, hire a freaking robot. Let dispatchers and driver managers have cubicle facing cameras placed so that management can make sure they are working every second. How about that? These people that think driver facing cameras are okay or even a positive thing make me cringe with fear for the future.

Dude, I can even be sold on the audio. I hate it but I can see the value of Audio. But I just can’t see any realistic situation where a camera can protect the driver. That’s why I asked for one. I guess my wild bird theory is all we got. Lolkanidana Thanks this.

Trust me they wish they could hire robots. Eliminate these pesky drivers. If some hacked into ATAs private email I bet this would be a common subject.kanidana Thanks this.

You can’t, because that isn’t the point. It’s only so the company can point a finger and say to the slip-and-fall lawyer “it’s HIS fault”.Dumdriver Thanks this.

Who has a 5 gallon bucket of Jergens in their cab??? Pm me and let me know where I can pick one up because I can only get my hands on 1 gallon buckets.

God forbid a driver would actually think they are accountable for their actions behind the wheel that a dash cam might capture.
