2000 Pete 379 with big cat and 13sp EF. Got towed other day, driveshaft was pulled. Truck is fixed and mechanic "4got" to replace driveshaft. My boss can't get this glorified parts changer on the phone, now he wants me to put the driveshaft back in. Anybody know what to set the torque wrench at? Any threadlock on the bolts? Anything I need to know? Thanx in advance,

Just use some locktite and tighten them down. I'm sure there is a torque setting but I've never worried about it. Just make sure they are good and tight!
If they are the cap type hit them with an hammer after you tighten them, then check to make sure they arestill tight. -
If it's the spicer life series driveshaft..........100-110 Ft/Lbs........but you have to use new bolts and straps everytime you take them apart. Otherwise Spicer claims that used bolts can loosen and drop the driveshaft out of the truck.

They have to say that incase someone puts it back together, doesn't use locktite and the driveshaft falls out...
...Lawsuit protection.

But if you put it back together and don't follow their instructions for re-installation and it falls out and hurts someone. Your 100% at fault whether you use locktite or not.

Yes but even if you put it back together per their instructions, it falls out, your still liable.
You know as well as I do that it all turns into the blame game!
I guess as long as you know what your doing and know what to look for you should be ok.
This is why I like the cap style with locking tabs.....

I see you said you have a Cat...that's most of the problem

If its the C-15 or 3406, there's a hand priming pump by the filter. Most guys like to just take them out and install a block there. Those allow the pump to suck air real bad. But, the quick fix an ISX. -
last summer I was taking off from a stop, BANG!, the bolts in the caps came loose and the shaft spun out of the yolk. got really lucky that the bolts didn't break off in the hole or mees up the threads. new u-joint and it was good as new. now I make it a habit to look at those bolts every once in a while.

WHAT? Surely you are inhaling fumes from that ISX! Before the engine problems (head cracked) the truck pulled 40-50k lb loads like a scalded silver-back going after one of his ladies in heat! Note this beast has 816k miles w/o an in-frame, and was on a 30k mile PM schedule. Not my choice, not my truck. Company is NOT a trucking company, they are a local manufacturer with the one OTR rig. So the "fleet manager" has no idea nor experience with big trucks. This is no longer my problem as I have given notice and am moving on. I did not like the way this situation was handled, couple that with their sales dropping DRASTICALLY due to recession, my miles TANKED. Told them, however, when business picks up, AND, yes AND, they buy a newer truck, to give me a call.
