Depends probably on location. But they have a great schedule as a 4 day work week. Mostly no weekends. Loads suck to organize and some places aren’t easy to deliver but starting at 25hr with OT at 40 hrs and believe me you’ll work OT it’s not that bad. Top out gots to be in the $30’s hr. now.
LTL linehaul works weekends and the only ones that don’t are p&d city drivers. Some companies linehaul doesn’t work weekends but most do. Even ODFL. It’s easier work if they hire you or need drivers.
Foodservice always hires year round cause nobody wants to do the work.
Monday thru Friday trucking job and home every night.

A little known prospect might be in the trailer leasing biz. I do it part time, and none of our drivers drive at night or on multi=day trips. Plus it's hourly rates, which I prefer to mileage pay.

After that one year experience, you will have a better feel for what is best for you. But stick to it the first year so you can open more and better doors!
-
It can absolutely be done. Linehaul(nites).....food service(3am start).....oilfield(12 hr shifts).........Or you might get lucky and find a mom/pop outfit that has a direct account with a customer and be home every day by 6.

Don't worry about it your fine, Some just have nothing to add so they pick on posters. Try UPS, Fed X the obvious compaies, also try headhuters like Centerline drivers, etc... Or Home Depot there requirements are low, also Waste Management. You just have to put on your boots and go out beat the bushes to find what you want.

I personally recommend OTR for awhile for training, but have known many to make the jump running local

You don't know what your talking about lol.
Wasn't picking on anyone. Was having a discussion with the op on two of the other threads he started. -
Then be smart enough to send it to him private. And do not correct me on a public medium. When you are obviously Wrong. He is free to ask what he will as long as he is not profane or attacking someone personally.
-
I'll correct you anytime your wrong lol.
And Agian I was not wrong in anyway by letting him know it wasn't nessesary to start a new thread for each new question he had.
And by the way it obviously wasn't done in a mean or insulting manner.
Well ok obvious to everyone else.Last edited: Apr 25, 2018
