    O.K. Folks.....Just Wanted to know,because I keep getting Different Answers !

Is it TRUE ? That when you Go Buy a Truck ( either Out right,or Finance it ) that you DO NOT have to Pay ANY TAXES on it !
As Long as you are Employed by a Company,or have a Letter of Intent to Hire.

And when I say TAXES : I mean what ever SALES TAXES in the State that your Buying in,like you would Pay If like say you were Buying a Car.

So all your doing when Buying a Truck is : Just Negotiate a Price....Pay the 2290 Fee....and Pay for the Tag yourself IF you want.

Oh,and By The Way.....as you can SEE I'm in Florida.
So let me know IF Florida is a State that you DON'T have to Pay State Taxes when buying a Truck.

IF I have left anything out ? : Please let me,and others Know.

Just The FACTS Please.....and Keep on Truckin'........

Yes, but not in all states I believe. In Michigan it's called "rolling stock", salex tax exempt

It all depends on the state in which you're going to title and license it in. Not all states are tax exempt.

You will pay tax- a lot of tax. But, no at least in NC, you do not pay sales tax to the dealership.

It's been almost 12 months since I bought my truck and I'm running hard in anticipation of IRP, 2290, highway use, etc..... and there's always the fuel tax.

No tax on PA with a MC# but they will be hitting you hard with every other tax especially once you have depreciated the truck... You sure don't want to have it depreciated and still be owing the bank! Then.. all payments are taxable income!

You'll have to pay sales tax when you get your Florida title. 6% state plus whatever the county tax is. Around 7% total.

In TN if you buy, say a box truck, you can register with the county and you will pay taxes. Now that same truck registered in TN with apportion tags, IRP, pays no taxes when registering.

    Wow. ... just wow.

Florida has a partial rolling stock exemption which means you pay a pro-rated reduced tax on the truck.

You also need to claim it for interstate use and have a contract with a company (the contract is what I was told a while back but I also heard you don't need one).
